The Brewers finally had seen enough of Scooter Gennett’s .403 OPS and sent their once promising second baseman to Triple A Colorado Springs Monday, calling up reliever Corey Knebel.

Both Knebel and recently recalled infielder Luis Sardinas were acquired in the trade that sent Yovani Gallardo to Texas in the off-season.

Gennett has always been seen by most as a platoon option because of his inability to hit against lefties, but the Brewers decided to give him a chance as an everyday player, which obviously hasn’t worked out.
